Tate was praised for her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style, and she also wrestled. Soon after, her popularity grew when she became the first woman to win the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship. As well as her profession in mixed martial arts, she has also modelled for a variety of publications and websites for example, like 'ESPN The Magazine', and 'Fitness Gurls'.
