Miesha Theresa Tate is an American mixed martial art pundit. Miesha Theresa Tate is a famous American mixed martial artist. Born in Tacoma, Washington, she was an active participant in sports since her time in school. She started attending an mixed martial art group in Central Washington University after a friend of hers recommended the program. She took on her first amateur match when she was 20 years old against Elizabeth Posener who was a Muay Thai specialist. The following year, she made her debut as a professional at the HOOKnSHOOT one-night Women's Grand Prix. In two years she became the FCF Women's Bantamweight Champion for the first time. Tate was praised for her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style, and she also wrestled. Soon after, her popularity grew when she became the first woman to win the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship. As well as her profession in mixed martial arts, she has also modelled for a variety of publications and websites for example, like 'ESPN The Magazine', and 'Fitness Gurls'. She is a playable character in the video game EA Sports UFC as well.
